Join Friends of PRBO!
PRBO’s award winning science is guiding conservation efforts from Alaska to Central America — from the arid shrub steppe of the Intermountain West to the California Current marine ecosystem that stretches from Canada to Mexico.
Recognizing birds as primary indicators of ecosystem health, PRBO biologists study common and threatened birds - their populations, their breeding behavior and the habitats they depend upon.
Our long-term research allows us to evaluate the current status of wildlife and habitat, and to assess future threats and changes — from West Nile Virus to global warming. With this information, we develop and update science-based strategies to improve ecosystem management and to better conserve diverse and abundant populations of birds and other wildlife.
With your generous support as a Friend of PRBO, birds will continue telling us about the health of ecosystems—providing measurable, cost-effective means to conserve our planets natural resources for generations to come.
