Report banded bird sightings and bird band recoveries!

If you find a bird band or banded bird, you can report your sighting to the following location:

For aluminum band recoveries or band numbers that have been read on a live bird, report to the Bird Banding Laboratory or call  1-800-327-BAND.  In Mexico, call 001-800-327-2263.

For color banded bird sightings report as follows.  Remember to report the specific colors or flags that you observed on each leg (e.g., red over blue on left leg, and white over yellow on right):

Caspian Terns:  Please report all sightings of color banded Caspian Terns to Columbia Bird Research

Snowy Plovers: Please report all sightings of color banded Snowy Plovers to Francis Bidstrup c/o francesbid@directcon.net

You can also visit http://www.reportband.gov/  or http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/BBL/ to enter metal-banded and color banded birds (or found bands) online.
