The following resources are available for teachers and environmental educators to download and use in educational programs. We also have links to other excellent educational projects and resources on the web - check them out and let us know how you are using them in your classroom. PRBO Teacher Resource Packet: Contains 11 activities for students focusing on learning about native songbirds and shorebirds.

Shorebirds of the SF Bay Teacher Training Information -Teacher training information providing teachers with a background on what makes a bird a shorebird, commonly seen shorebirds in the SF Bay, resource lists and ideas for incorporating shorebirds into their curriculum.

Waterbird Identification Card- print and laminate this color waterbird id card to use with students in the field.

Beaches Are Habitat- Beach Education Kit- A portable, stand-alone display and hands-on Snowy Plover nest activity. Developed for West Coast beach educators, managers, and non-profit groups who wish to start or enhance their beach education or outreach program. A useful tool for docents and educators. Web-based Educational Projects - a fantastic way to bring technology, science, social science, language (and more) into your classroom. Web-based educational projects connect your students to scientific and culutral activities across the world without having to leave the classroom.

Snowy Plover Soap Opera. Explore the world of threatened Western Snowy Plovers through this PRBO web site. The Soap Opera follows the lives of 3 Soap Opera stars - actual Snowy Plovers who live on West Coast beaches and are followed by PRBO biologists. Through the Soap Opera: check in for regular updates on the Soap Opera stars' lives; learn why Snowies are threatened; learn about what it takes to be a Snowy Plover biologist - from finding a nest to banding chicks; learn about beach habitat; and explore the life cycle of Snowy Plovers.

Shorebird Sister Schools Program. An international network of teachers, students and scientists all with a common interest: shorebirds - one of the most cosmopolitan and fascinating groups of birds on Earth! Excellent resources for students and teachers and opportunites to link your class with students from another school on your flyway in the Americas.
