It is the only aquarium focused specifically on the rich and diverse aquatic life and distinctive ecosystems of the Bay its surrounding waters. Symposium attendees are granted entrance to the Aquarium that day.
Directions
Aquarium of the Bay is located on Fisherman's Wharf adjacent to PIER 39. For directions to the Aquarium by car, ferry, or rail, please see their web site.
Parking
Parking in the Fisherman’s Wharf area can be difficult and expensive. The Aquarium is easily reached by public transportation, which we encourage you to use.
Parking is available at a number of lots in the area including:
• PIER 39 parking garage – one block away from the Aquarium. A limited number of parking passes will be available for purchase at a reduced rate.

Public Transportation
The SF MUNI web site has a trip planner link (Plan a Trip at 511.org) that will plan your trip using all Bay Area public transportation.
BART is the commuter rail to the East Bay (Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond or beyond), Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton, the San Francisco Airport and Millbrae. BART can take you to downtown San Francisco from the Oakland and San Francisco airports. Once downtown, you can connect to the SF MUNI “F-line” (get off at Embarcadero Station) or a Cable Car (get off at Powell Street Station) to reach Fisherman’s Wharf. The F-line is typically faster.
The F-line streetcar is a vintage electric rail vehicle serving Market Street and the waterfront boulevard, The Embarcadero, and linking downtown San Francisco to Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. Board the F-line at specially marked center islands along Market Street heading east towards the Bay to get to Fisherman’s Wharf/Pier 39.

Transportation information can also be found at the Bay Area Traveler.
Airports
San Francisco is easily accessible by both San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) serves both airports and can bring you to downtown San Francisco. From there, take the SF MUNI “F-line”, Cable Car, or a taxi to Pier 39.
