Classroom Programs
Programs consist of up to a 9-part program including two field visits with pre- and post-classroom visits. In each of these programs, the goals include teaching students about science as it relates to bird and habitat conservation in their community. In addition, we focus on the importance and connection to the ecology and natural resources of the community's local green space, Pickleweed Park. The program culminates with a student-led community tour of the park giving students the opportunity to share their knowledge learned during the program and connect others to the park's important natural resources.
The school communities including the students, principal, teachers and garden coordinators have greatly supported our program and are key to its success!
