PRBO has partnered with TomKat Ranch/Leftcoast Grassfed to establish the TomKat Field Station, located in coastal San Mateo County.

The 2000-acre property is a rich habitat mosaic, rising from a coastal stream valley to coastal scrub and forested slopes.

Through our new collaboration, PRBO aims to help guide TomKat Ranch in creating sustainably produced beef, promoting land stewardship, and enhancing biodiversity and wildlife protection. 

PRBO began preliminary bird and amphibian surveys in 2010 which will expand into ranch-wide monitoring in 2011.  These surveys will assist PRBO in understanding Ranch ecology and identify opportunities for future habitat enhancement and conservation.
