The Tern Society - Planned Gifts to PRBO

There are many ways to help PRBO conserve birds, other wildlife and their ecosystems. Becoming a member of the Tern Society and remembering PRBO in your estate plan is a wonderful choice! Planned gifts to PRBO ensure the continued success of long-term projects across the organization and provide critical support to current programs.

The creation of an estate plan ensures that your personal, financial and philanthropic goals continue to be met after your lifetime. By including PRBO if your estate plan, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a lasting difference for conservation in California and throughout the West.

If you have named PRBO in your estate plan, we hope you will share this with us. We would be honored to welcome you to our Tern Society and would love the opportunity to express our gratitude.

Membership in the Tern Society is open to anyone who has made a planned gift through a will, estate plan, life-income or other deferred gift to PRBO. It is our way of recognizing such a thoughtful and lasting gift.

Tern Society benefits include:

  • Invitations to exclusive trips and other PRBO special events
  • Quarterly updates from PRBO’s Executive Director
  • The knowledge that you are making a lasting difference for conservation in California and throughout the West

To preserve PRBO’s future, Planned gifts to PRBO are designated to our Endowment Fund, unless a donor requests their gift be used for a specific project or purpose. The goal of PRBO’s Endowment Fund is to provide a growing stream of income to support our mission to conserve birds, other wildlife and ecosystems through innovative scientific research and outreach. Gifts contributed to the endowment are invested in a way that preserves principal, encourages long-term growth, and provides yearly income to PRBO.

If you choose to include PRBO in your will or estate plan, our organization should be named as follows:

PRBO Conservation Science, a nonprofit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of California, and with principal business address of 3820 Cypress Drive # 11, Petaluma, CA 94954. (Our tax identification code is 94-1594250.)

We welcome the opportunity to talk with you about how to include PRBO in your will or estate plan. If you would like more information about including PRBO in your bequest, or other ways in which you can benefit PRBO in perpetuity, please contact Nancy Gamble at (707) 781-2555, extension 324.
